Abby is the daughter of my cousin Bryan and his wife Megan. I got the chance to photograph her recently and I loved spending time with her. She is so sweet and loving, but not afraid to express herself. All things I adore in her.

Big Boy Bed Part II

Update: Ronan now sleeps in his big boy bed without too much rebellion. After 3 weeks, it's finally happening! Yay!

It was finally time for Ronan's celebration this past Sunday, and we had a Sesame Street soiree, spotlighting his favorite guy, Elmo. He was digging the balloons the most, though. He had a fine time rearranging the balloon bouquets across the floor before the party started. He definitely needs more training before he is ready to host on his own, but that's alright, he is quite adorable even with the decorating talent still in the early stages.



Elmo's pet goldfish Dorothy also made an appearance.

Weekend Fun

Not only was it the weekend for Izzy's celebration and Ronan's celebration, Amber and John came to visit from Tennesse, and they brought their kids. Between us, we have 7, and when we are all together, the house is crazy, loud, exhausting, but wonderful, and so much fun. Seven of the children that I love most in the world all under one roof. We have my parents and my brother here, and we all enjoy being with each other.

Best of Both Worlds

We threw Izzy's 9th birthday bash this past Saturday. We were stoked to include her friend Marlee in the festivities, whose own day is six days before Izzy's. They decided on a Hannah Montana theme, which was exciting for all invited. Including Ivan, who has made our favorite Disney superstar his newest lady love. My best friend, Amber, who is Izzy's godmother and her husband John, made the cake. It was amazing. And we all know how much I get into the decorating, so I was ready. She and Marlee had a blast. They were also probably relieved that the Hannah Montana sing-a-long did not get to happen, since Amber and I had planned a rendition of "Life's What you Make it". They say it would have been embarrassing, but really, it would have been great and very entertaining.

Since the day she was born, she has liked the idea of being in charge. It pays off for her when manifested in productive ways. Presenting the leadership award winner for the Sparkz...Izzy Sleczkowski.

The last of the soccer season....

These are the images from Izzy's last two games. We played the Fusion for both games, who also had purple jerseys, so that was getting a little confusing. We beat them game 1, 4-1 (yeah!) and the next game they beat us 3-1. They must have been a little hungry for us that second game. Nevertheless, it was a great season, and it has been so wonderful watching Izzy have so much fun and really fall in love with something.

Big Boy Bed

We have tried to get Ronan to make the transition to his Big Boy Bed. He is not having it. One recent afternoon, I tried to get him to take a nap. He wound up pulling all of the clothes out of Ivan's hamper and making himself a little pallet on the floor. He showed me, I guess. But I did get this sweet photo out of it.

They decided to build him a headquarters.

We spent some time today in this park like setting a street over from where I grew up. This big expanse of trees, grass, and sunshine. It is marked by a great hill that Ronan did not want to stop climbing the hill, and he got kind of annoyed when he was made to stop. I don't blame him, but the hill gets quite tiring after a few trips.
